Milan, the plan for Rabiot. Allegri calls him: "Come". The Frenchman is tempted

Milan, the plan for Rabiot. Allegri calls him: "Come". The Frenchman is tempted

There used to be offers like You&Me to cut the costs of those who called each other very frequently. Massimiliano Allegri and Adrien Rabiot are doing very well and don't need them, then thanks to the European Union the telephone rates have definitely dropped for calls between Italy and France. All this to say that Max and his protégé are in constant contact, especially now that Milan has given the green light to the sale of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City. Because Luka Modric will be the first addition to the midfield, but certainly not the only one. And a physical midfielder, with pace and a goal in his feet would be absolutely welcome to Allegri. What do you say, is he Rabiot's identikit? Exactly...

Reijnders' farewell, also certified by the midfielder's words from the Dutch training camp ("The Premier League is a fantastic championship, you dream about it since you're little"), will bring Milan around 72 million euros, bonuses (mostly easily achievable). In the fixed part there is a small percentage (just under 10%) that will go to Az Alkmaar, the club from which the Rossoneri bought Tiji for just over 20 million in the summer of 2023. Two years after the farewell, also wanted by the player, eager to be trained by Pep Guardiola, but still well paid: thanks to the substantial capital gain on the Dutchman, Milan will thus close the budget with a plus sign for the third year in a row. But what interests the fans of the Devil is something else: the club intends to reinvest the entire amount on the market. Starting, in fact, with the one who will be his heir. In Allegri's wishes, Rabiot himself. Who is currently tied to Marseille by a contract until June 30, 2026. However, the former Juventus player has a verbal agreement with the French club: if he wants to leave, 10.5 million can be enough. An almost symbolic price for a player of the level of the French international, one of the driving forces of the team that achieved second place in Ligue 1 and qualified for the next Champions League. Here, the Champions League, even more than the salary (Rabiot earns 3.5 million per season in fixed terms, but with easy bonuses that increase his salary to around 6), is the real obstacle. Adrien would like to experience the thrill of playing it at least one year in Marseille, his family's favorite team, with a coach he gets along very well with like Roberto De Zerbi. Allegri, however, is Allegri. "Giovanni Rossi, now with me at Marseille, but also a friend of Max, calls him 'your dad'", Rabiot himself recently confessed to the Gazzetta. The relationship goes almost beyond the canonical feeling between coach and player. And who knows whether the new Milan coach didn't read his protégé's interview in La Rosea before calling him in recent days to invite him to follow him to the Rossoneri. A chat between winks and laughter, knowing Max's proverbial irony. For now we're stuck there, but deep down Allegri hopes and Rabiot is seriously thinking about it, teased by the possibility of working together again like at Juve.

Milan, and in particular the sports director Igli Tare, must obviously think about other names too, because reinforcing the midfield is not only a desire, but first of all a necessity. For example, the Lazio midfield duo is liked, which the Albanian manager naturally knows very well: Nicolò Rovella, who Max had the opportunity to see up close especially in the summer of 2022, before being loaned to Monza, and Matteo Guendouzi, French like Rabiot. Rovella has an advantage: he is Italian, a detail not to be underestimated for a team that needs to increase the tricolor rate in the squad, also (but not only) for list issues. Guendouzi, however, reflects more the player who can adapt quickly to Allegri's football, bringing running, grit and power to the midfield. Abroad, Raphael Onyedika, a Nigerian born in 2001 from Bruges, is also being monitored. He has been on Milan's radar since his time playing for Midtyjlland, in Denmark, but he has a drawback: he is a non-EU citizen and would occupy a slot.
